What is Assisted Living?

The term Assisted Living refers to communities that offer a special combination of housing, personalized supportive services, and if needed, care. Typically residents have a choice of whether or not to take advantage of the available services or programs which can include housekeeping, interior, and exterior maintenance, transportation, social activities, and meals.  You may also here the general term “Senior Living.” This term can include all categories of living for active seniors from independence onward.  As you research for community living for you or a loved one who may need some assistance, and you encounter “Senior Living” in your search, look as to whether these communities include “Assisted Living” as part of the array of services in their community.  These services may include:
